this is my bike, this is an excelent bike with a few glitches still being ironed out. i have been using it for doing xc/am in wales and all though it weighs 36lbs+ and only has 10 gears, i wasnt that far behind my xc whippet mates on sub 30lb bikes or carbon hard tails with 30 gears on the up hill. Point it down hill and they had no chance of keeping up, handles like a mini dh rig. the idler pulley stops the chain growing under suspension compression. on the down side, i had to modify the top guide on the chain device to get the chain at a nice angle so buy something that isnt too pricey and that you can get spare guides for (incase you get it wrong), and the original idler pulley wouldn't let speed links past (i machined mine down but you can buy a new version) but that was minor. BUT... THE PIVOT BOLT ISSUE: the original pivot bolts were hollow and (according to my dad (a aerospace engineer)) the end of the thread was not finished correctly, as it wasnt a chamfer. this means all the load was put through this point and it sheered. a common problem but the looks of there facebook page. Corsair have made a new batch (thread made correctly and not hollow) but they haven't made it to this country yet. if you get one still in warranty they will replace them, if not its about £70GBP for the set :( SO this a downhillers xc bike, that is incredibly capable, peddles really well (compared to my old SX trail), it takes a bit of getting used to but once you do its really predictable. all the issues i have mentioned have been sorted out so if you buy one that still has warranty you will be all good.

its my bike, running it with out the idler causes it to cut into the lower of the top seat stay, so i wouldn't recommend it. saying that i had to machine down the idler (i had the original type) to allow speed links to pass by. i rode afan's skyline and W2 on it and even with the chain device it kept dropping the chain, so i would recommend using one thats not designed for a bash guard. i had to modify the top guide to get the chain at a nice angle so buy something that isnt too pricey and that you can get spare guides for (incase you get it wrong) like a Superstar plasma. THE PIVOT BOLT ISSUE: the original bolts were hollow and (according to my dad (a aerospace engineer)) the end of the thread was not finished correctly, it wasnt a chamfer. this means all the load was put through this point and it sheered. Corsair have made a new batch (thread made correctly and not hollow) but they haven't made it to this country yet. if you got one still in warranty they will replace them, if not its about £70 for the set :(

Its people like him who show you that this world isnt going completely to the dogs. He has accepted that life isnt going to be easy for him but has not let it get in his way. I only wish i had 1/10000 of his positiveness and determination. A very worthy VOD.

I did. But today my dad managed to fix them. Now when I lean on them fully they have about 140mm travel which is about right. Chances are they will probably break again though.
